If you are anything like me, "Anne of Green Gables" has a special place in your heart. I grew up reading the books and watched and rewatched the 3+ hour movies. I wanted my hair to be red. I wanted to have Anne's spirit, imagination, confidence, intelligence, and kind heart.
And so when a friend suggested we have an "Anne of Green Gables" party, I was more than eager. We decorated with doilies, pink roses - "the only real roses" - and baby's breath, made chicken salad tea sandwiches and carrot tortes, and served a rose blend tea and - of course - Raspberry Cordial. We watched the movie and fell in love with Gilbert and cried for Matthew all over again.
